I hope you enjoyed The Twelve Days of Butterflies for 2024 and Thank You for being part of the MBG Community. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 🦋🥳
While the monarch population is starting to see a slight recovery, there’s still much work to be done to bring the monarch migration back from the brink…
I want them all! Is that an option? Lol! Seriously, though, if I had to pick just one, it would be the butterfly lady scultpure, because it would go nicely with my small collection…but I also love the Christmas angel ornament! A cage & poo poo platter would be nice too!
The gifts are all great, but I think the Monarch mug is particularly special. I have been raising monarchs for several years now. During the season, I provide health data and OE parasite testing samples for evaluation to Project Monarch Health, at the University of Georgia. Monarchs definitely hold a large part of my heart.
I would choose the Floral Tubes & Short Peg Racks SYSTEM for Feeding Caterpillars because I can always use more supplies 🙂
So many great things! I would love the personalized Monarch mug! My morning coffee is my favorite part of my day. The perfect mug is priceless!
I love the butterfly lady sculpture. I have Willow Tree sculptures, but have never seen this one.
All these are great gifts. I would love to receive the milkweed seeds to attract them to my yard. I remember when I was a kid I grew up with butterflies. Well when I had children, they did not grow up with them like I did. This makes me very sad. We really need to do a better job of advocating to bring them back and clean up our environment as we live in a very toxic environment.
1. I would most like the Lego Blue Morpho Insects Kit
2. Why? The kit is so unique and engaging…It’s not your typical gift! It combines the fun of LEGO building with the fascinating world of insects, making it a unique and engaging experience for the builder. It is educational as the included booklet provides information about each insect, making it a fun and educational experience….my 9-year-old granddaughter loves building with Legos and she loves/helps me with my monarch butterfly tagging and release each year. What a great gift!
I would choose the butterfly puzzle as a gift as it’s of beautiful quality and creates a perfect reason to gather friends and family 🦋
I would love the personalized Monarch butterfly mug. I drink a lot of tea and love Monarchs, so I would get that for myself and my friends who also love tea and coffee.
I liked all the gift ideas but I especially like the Willow Tree lady holding the butterfly. It can be a beautiful ornament inside the house to remind us of the beauty and how delicate the butterflies are yet strong enough to migtate. One of the God’s creations.
I would like to give The Caterpillar Cage (Day 8) with a PooPoo Platter and Peg Rack Feeding System (Day 9) to my friend “The Mother of Monarchs” who has managed a Monarch Butterfly Conservancy for the past 10 years! She can use some new equipment to care for her monarchs and ‘raise the migration!’
My gift of choice would be the organza seed catcher bags. I never have time to make them myself, and they do the job. Great gift for fellow monarch raisers.
I think garden flag of butterflies to put in my garden and remind people of the plight of Monarchs and other butterflies. Only saw two monarchs this summer.
Sad.
Love the butterfly sculpture but anything butterfly is good
I think the Butterfly puzzle would be a fantastic gift to give or receive. I love working on puzzles with my husband during the winter nights when its too cold to sit out on our porch.
My favorite gift would be the Lego set of insects! I love legos and insects. Win, win, win!
Day 10 Butterfly calendar. It is always nice to have a physical calendar that helps to keep track of daily activities but also to keeps tally of butterflies you released.
I would like to give the Day 9 set of floral tubes and peg rack to my neighbor. I’ve helped her get started growing milkweed and given her advice on finding eggs and raising Monarch caterpillars. She’s been an enthusiastic student and has told me many times how much this new experience has helped her out. I’ve purchased three sets of tubes for myself. They’ve made the work so much easier and they’ve boosted to my success rates. I’d like her to have the same benefits.
I like the caterpillar Cages with CLEAR MESH for 4-side Viewing. This would be a great gift as it provides this endangered species a significant advantage to increase survival rates. In addition, it can be used for educational purposes for the young and old alike, to teach them on how we humans can assist the endangered monarchs to survive and increase their fragile numbers worldwide.
I would love the Lady and butterfly figurine. Looks like its WillowTree, and I collect those. I have never seen a butterfly one before! I also fell in love with the suncatcher, so beautiful!
Love! Love! Love! The gift ideas this year!
I would love the puzzle because I’m a big puzzle fan! Even have one of those puzzle tables XD
Love all of the gift ideas but my favorite is the Monarch suncatcher. Love suncatchers
My choice would be the butterfly Lady. It reminds me of mother nature holding the precise gifts we’ve been given and a reminder of just how fragile they are and our role in preserving them.
The milkweed seed packets would be an ideal gift!!! Not only is milkweed essential to raise monarchs, the seeds are a gift that comes back year after year and will attract our beautiful monarchs!
All these gifts are fantastic ideas! I have been raising monarchs for years and been through many “unusual” situations with them. One night last year it was getting really cold, so I brought my milkweed with babies on it inside and put it in my bathtub for the night. In the morning, one of them had made its crysallis and was hanging from the underside of the toilet bowl. Other times I have made emergency runs when out of milkweed for acorn squash and cucumbers for them to eat (it works!) And even right now I’m in my living room worth a plant right next to me because it’s going to get cold again, and this poor little guy is hanging from the underside of a big leaf trying to make his crysallis. But what makes me really happy is getting other people to raise monarchs… I’ve had several! At first I thought the seeds would be the best… but now I think the cage (#8) might get someone really excited to try it! That would be my choice.
I think the poo platter and floral tubes would be a great gift for someone who has the mesh cage as I do.
Giving the gift of a mesh butterfly containment is the very best way to encourage a new person to the idea of saving butterfly lives. Even if the person does not have their private habitat, eggs or young cats can be found on many public properties for collection.
Paul
The Butterfly Lady Sculpture would be perfect for my wife. She enjoys keeping several areas as pollinator gardens and gets so excited when she finds a chrysalis.
I would love to receive milkweed seeds to prepare a home for future generations of butterflies.
I would like to have the Milkweed Seeds to grow more trees. A couple of our teachers know where to find the caterpillars (in another town) to collect them and bring them to school. Several of us help raise them into butterflies. It’s almost school-wide! Their metamorphosis is just amazing!!! Our students really get involved! Talk about “hands-on” learning!!! Thank you!
I have all my growing supplies so the lady sculpture or the flag or seeds. I like to have different varieties of seeds and I always have A butterfly flag in my garden. I’ve been raising monarchs for 18 years and I love every minute of it and so do my neighbors.
I would like to receive an Amazon gift card so that I can purchase whatever Monarch butterfly supplies or seeds that I want. I have bought and use many of the Monarch raising supplies that you sell and I grow several varieties of milkweed in my garden. Receiving the card would enable me to buy and grow more different varieties of milkweed of my choice! I do like the Monarch tea light but unfortunately where I would use it outside, on my patio table, the table has a mesh top and those Monarch legs would fall right through!
Do I have to choose just one?! They are all such great gift ideas that I would love to receive them all.
The puzzle could be built on cold winter days to remember spring is just a few months away. The statue of the girl with butterfly will go perfect with my collection of similar pieces. Seeds would be used to help start a monarch waystation at my church where I work. The cage and floral tube holder would allow me to raise more monarch to share the love of this hobby with the preschool children at church.
The list goes on and on!!!!
I would love the Monarch butterfly tea light. I think it would look great on my backyard patio, and prompt discussion with guests and visitors about the need to protect the monarch and its habitat.
So many great items! I would give the Lego set to my friend’s grandchildren. I bring cocoons to them to watch and eventually release monarchs. They love it!
I love the butterfly puzzle. The evenings in the winter are so long and dark and what a great activity to challenge your mind and remind you of spring. I also like the butterfly planner. I would enjoy planning my activities with picture of flowers and butterflies around.
We have 3 pollinator garden areas and often have school groups tour the area to learn about Monarchs and other pollinators. The Invisimesh 4 sided clear would be wonderful for giving young people a close up view of the process. If we educate them about the process, they will be more likely to try a garden of their own.
I would most like to receive the puzzle because I love doing jigsaws!
#4 would make a good gift since so much Milkweed has been destroyed. I actually would like that gift myself. 😁
I would love to give the butterfly puzzle to my husband.
If I was to win a prize, my favorite will be the Monarch Christmas Angel.
Day 9 floral tubes… to add more feeding to my cages. Although all the gifts are perfect!!!
I like the girl holding the butterfly sculpture. I always like the simple style.
I’ve been a backyard beekeeper for many years and have planted lots of native pollinator plants in my garden. More recently, I’ve been learning about Monarch Butterflies and the importance of planting native milkweed for them. I’ve planted over 10 native milkweed plants in my garden and roughly 100 seeds in my large dedicated Waystation area. I’m hopeful to begin rearing healthy Monarch Butterflies next season. My goal is to inspire others to do the same.
I would like the sculpture with the girl and butterfly. When my mom was alive she bought me a few of those statues. I never saw this one and having it would remind me of my mom.
I would love to be gifted the tea light holder. It’s so beautiful and it would be a great addition to my already growing pollinator garden.
I personally would love the leggo set. While all the gifts are great I just introduced my 3 nephews to raising their own Monarchs last year and they loved it. everyone they released they gave a name to. One of their other favorite things is Leggos. They get this from their parents who are both leggo fanatics. In fact, their wedding was leggo themed. Thanks for the chance to win this great prize.
What fun gift ideals.. Love the butterfly tea light.
The butterfly lady sculpture for myself and the puzzle for my daughter in law.
I would love the Joyful Butterfly gift card. I get so many people asking me about raising butterflies. I’ve shared my knowledge and some of my raising supplies with many people over the years. It would be great to have various seeds to share next year.
The Lego insect set is really quite amazing! Great to give or receive!
I love the tea light sculpture. It is gorgeous!
I would the the butterfly tea light becuz it is lovely and I love candles
I would like number Nine because is practical and much needed for my babies. Number 5 reminds me of my mother. When I see a butterfly I think I am getting a visitation from my mother who is an angel now.
All the items would make wonderful gifts. After reading through the comments of others if my name were chosen my choice would be for the 1,000 piece puzzle, however, instead of sending it to me I’d like it sent to Kathy Chernicky so she can spend quality time with her sister (Who has Alzheimer’s).
The mesh cages are fabulous!
Would love to be entered in the contest!
Thank you!
I would gift the Lego set to my granddaughters. They live butterflies and Lego’s.
I would gift the butterfly puzzle to my mother. She loves doing puzzles and is so supportive of me raising monarchs. She’s been doing more puzzles now that she’s been sick with cancer. She can’t do much else unfortunately.
I would love the milkweed seeds, there’s never enough milkweed!! I also love the butterfly habitat with the viewing widow!
I would like to receive the floral tubes and short rack system so that I can keep the milkweed fresh for more caterpillars.
The Sunflower Garden Flags are beautiful and year round in Florida
The Calendar is also a constant reminder of our beautiful butterfly friends.
I would absolutely love to receive the Monarch Butterfly Tea Light Holder. Such a beautiful and simple item that you can enjoy all year round. My milkweed and butterfly garden sits right below two large living room windows. It would be a perfect addition to one of the window sills. Such a great list!!
Butterfly wall calendar, having butterflies year round 🦋🧡
I use wall calendars as well as the calendar on my phone.
All of the 12 days are nice.
I would love the organza bags for my milkweed seeds to be able to just pass them on to family & friends, so they too can enjoy the love & wonders of the monarchs and to get their population up. Spreading seeds into a garden is the best possible way for this to happen.
There are three gifts that I would love to receive, so it is hard to narrow it down to one. The butterfly puzzle, the personalized butterfly coffee mug, and the gift card to Joyful Butterfly are all wonderful gifts. If I had to choose one, I guess it would be the gift card to Joyful Butterfly because they are a well-respected purveyor of excellent quality pollinator plants and seeds.
I would love to receive the 4th day gift of the milkweed seeds! There is never enough milkweed in my garden for monarchs to lay eggs on or to feed on.
I would love to GIVE Day 2 the Butterfly Lady Sculpture to my daughter because we went together this past summer to see the butterflies and were amazed how friendly they were landing and sitting on us. or I would love to RECEIVE the Day 8Caterpillar Cage Clear mesh so I could raise my own to set free. I actually found on my sunflower plant in late Sept, a Chrysalis and the next day a beautiful Monarch emerged….that just made my day. We love, love butterflies!!
I would love the baby clear Caterpillar cage. There would be so much more fun than putting them in jars and lots safer
I would love to receive the tall butterfly enclosure or the poo poo platter. This past year I successfully raised 49 Monarchs & I could always use more cages. The poo poo platters are wonderful to keep them clean inside .
My sister has Alzheimer’s Disease. She has done puzzles over the years and is still able to do them. And now I am able to help her when she gets stuck. Gift #1, the butterfly puzzle, would be an awesome gift for her as she loves butterflies.
I Ewok would buy the butterfly puzzle for a friend who I am trying to convince to let a small part of her suburban lawn go unmowed. She worries about her neighbors reaction.
I would get the Lego set. My grandson loves Legos. The insects would be of interest to him. When he lived closer, he helped me in the garden. He was afraid of bugs and we discussed their usefulness in the garden.
I want them all! Is that an option? Lol! Seriously, though, if I had to pick just one, it would be the butterfly lady scultpure, because it would go nicely with my small collection…but I also love the Christmas angel ornament! A cage & poo poo platter would be nice too!
